Lets take a look, shall we?  This lovely card, dated 12.17.10, states that LHS is in a deficit of $38,600, but at November's board meeting (11.30.10), Alfred Martino stated the deficit was $52,699.  It's a small difference, but a difference none the less.  Reminiscent of Niki Dawson's and Aurora Piacentino's "rescue efforts" a few months back...60 dogs rescued - no, 60 animals total - no, 43 dogs but we have no information on cats - no, 41 dogs on a partial rescued list.  Can we corroborate on stories before misinforming the public?

What's interesting is that they claim vaccinating over 175 animals cost the shelter $17,000.  What does over 175 animals mean?  Does it mean 175.5 animals?  And how did it end up costing $17,000?

Are these people insisting that each animal costs $97.14 to vaccinate?  Lets try to break down the costs here.  The Rabies vaccine costs about $5.00, Distemper vaccine about $2.00.....WOW there has to be a LOT of vaccinating going on at the shelter.

They also want you to believe that in their 8 years of operation, LHS has adopted out 10,000 animals?  That means they would have had to adopt out 3.5 animals PER DAY (using 360 days per year), which would add up to 105 animals PER MONTH.  I would love to see those records.

As for the major donor's "abrupt" departure, I believe this major donor warned those trying to sabotage LHS of this departure if they continued to send the shelter down the crapper.  I believe this major donor also gave LHS an additional $90,000 to pay for Dr. Bloom's salary after warning them of this departure.

Then again, it's always easier to blame someone else, and make yourself look like the victim.
